I’m back again with an update for our One Room Challenge Master Bedroom Design! So I shared last week our plan, and them some really horrible before pictures.
I am so happy to report that we made PROGRESS! Our curtains are hung and nightstands are in place! Blake even assembled our bed, but I don’t have any bedding yet. As soon as I get that figured out, I will share it! Okay no more babbling, here it is!
Okay so I LOVE the look of thick, heavy linen curtains. However, I just didn’t have it in the budget to spend hundreds PER PANEL of curtains. So… here is my DIY Linen-ish Curtains! Featuring… none other than, paint drop cloths. And Bleach. Lots of bleach!
I found my drop cloths at Wal-Mart for $10 each. I’ve heard Home Depot has great ones, but Lowes apparently puts a seam down the middle of theirs, so avoid them!
These are the hooks you will need! I had some already, but they have them at Wal-Mart. I painted mine with a can of Satin Nickel spray paint to match the rods.
I filled one tub with two drop cloths, half a gallon of bleach and filled with water. I had intentions of letting it soak for 6 hours, but confession: I completely forgot about it and let is set overnight. They still didn’t turn out as white as I had initially hoped, but they lightened up a lot and I actually prefer this color in our room!
There you have it! Just wash and dry your drop cloths, clip with the rings, then slide them onto the curtain rod. Easy-peasy! Super affordable, and easy curtains!
Oh, I should mention, we have 9 ft ceilings and hung them close to the ceiling and they puddled the perfect amount! You can get different size drop cloths as well!
